Celebrated on 13th November every year, World Kindness Day is a global initiative to celebrate acts of kindness and spread joy. Some projects in the past have included Kindness UL handing out 10,000 free chocolate bars at train stations across London, and World Kindness Australia offered free hugs along Bondi Beach. At Lucid, the team are planning acts of kindness for one another to celebrate this event — and we also want to offer you some advice on being kind to your technology. Our tips will help to improve the longevity of your devices, streamline your business, and make your workday a little easier this World Kindness Day.
Tips from the Lucid Team
1. Choose good-quality antivirus software, and keep it updated. At Lucid, we can help you to find the right product that fits both your budget and the needs of your business, making sure that your tech is protected.
2. Try not to eat at your desk. Whilst a working lunch can be productive, crumbs can easily make their way into your keyboard and jam the keys — and if you accidentally spill something onto your computer, you might require the Lucid team’s disaster recovery services! For everyday dust and build-up, you can also use compressed air and a microfibre cloth to keep your screens and keyboards clean.
3. Invest in your hardware. Outdated devices tend to use more power, perform with far less efficiency, and often slow your business down. Slow technology can also have a negative impact on your people — there are few things more frustrating than battling with a slow computer! The upfront cost of a newer model can be recouped in lower energy usage, an increase in productivity, and an uptick in staff morale.
4. Trust your technology to the experts. Outsourcing your IT support ensures that your business can benefit from the knowledge and experience of professionals, helping to quickly and efficiently resolve issues with minimal disruption.
